Wasabi peas are the perfect party snack— and decongestant. Most grocery stores carry them in the specialty aisle or along with the snacks and peanuts. Hot Wasabi Peas

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh peas
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- ¼ cup wasabi paste (pictured below)
- 2 teaspoons wasabi powder
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of corn starch
- 1 teaspoon water
- ½ teaspoon mustard powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- sea salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees, Coat a large baking sheet with canola oil.
- Transfer the peas to the baking sheet and move them around in the oil. Season with sea salt, mustard powder and garlic powder.
- Bake for 6 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, or until the peas are dry.
- In a large bowl, mix together the wasabi paste, rice vinegar, water and corn starch, When the peas are dried out and ready, pour them into the bowl and coat them with the mixture.
- Pour the peas back onto the baking sheet and bake for another 10 - 20 minutes, or until the peas are crisp and completely dry.
- To make a wasabi pea coating for fish, just take the dried peas and grind them up in a food processor with some Parmesan cheese and panko or bread crumbs.
Note: I dried out the peas with a dehydrator, pictured below, but you can also use the oven. Just place the peas on a lightly oiled baking sheet, set your oven to the lowest setting, and dry the peas until completely crisp.
