Frequently Asked Questions
How do you keep salmon croquettes from falling apart?
Salmon croquettes are an excellent appetizer or main course and can be made in a variety of ways, but one common technique is to mix the cooked salmon with bread crumbs, seasonings, eggs, and milk. Then you shape the mixture into small balls and deep-fry them until they turn a golden brown.
To keep them from falling apart while they're frying, make sure that you gently press them down as they cook so that they don't form tough bombs. Once they're done bubbling away on the oiled surface, use a skimmer to remove them before serving hot. Just be sure not to overcrowd the fryer!
Do you put egg in salmon croquettes?
This is a difficult question to answer. Some people believe that egg should not be mixed with seafood, as it may add an unpleasant flavor or texture. Others believe that it's a classic croquette filling and should not be omitted. As a general rule of thumb, it's best to ask your chef before you order.
How do you know when salmon patties are done?
This is a common question that many people have, and the answer can be quite tricky. Generally, salmon patties should be cooked until they are firm to the touch and slightly pink in the center. However, different people have different preferences, so it's best to err on the side of caution and cook them until they're just right. Thanks for asking!
